The Brand
STORY
Alvera is a fashion house that produces women's ready-to-wear, bridal, and couture garments
in-house in small quantities currently.
Alvera was founded by Mia De Hoyos M.D a fashion design graduate of Southern Illinois University. Named after her mother Alvera. M.D originally launched Alvera as a ready-to-wear line.
After confirming she would make her own wedding gown one-day M.D then expanded into bridal developing Alvera Bridal one month later. Currently, M.D designs and sews every garment produced one by one in her atelier.
The Founder
"I majored in fashion design in college and upon graduation, I took a full-time job at a company to support myself financially. Alvera was always my goal but it took me some time to develop the brand.
In November 2019 I finalized & trademarked my business name. In March 2020 I started a Etsy shop thanks to a previous coworker of mine. In October 2021 I decided to stop selling on Etsy & get my own website in hopes of bringing more customers and building brand creditability.
A lot of background work has/is being done to bring my brand to life and I'm looking forward to continuing the journey." - M.D

SHIPPING
Our garments are shipped mostly via USPS.
Bridal gowns may be shipped via FedEx, USPS, or UPS.
Please note Alvera is not responsible for any lost/damaged items/packages.
RETURN POLICY
All sales are final. Alvera does not accept returns/exchanges. Once an order is placed the order, unfortunately, can not be canceled.
If your order is made-to-order no changes can be made.
If you purchase a ready-to-wear item and select the wrong size/color please email us within 24 hours so that the correct size/color can be shipped. If 24 hours have passed unfortunately no changes will be able to be made once the product has shipped.

COUTURE ORDER POLICY
We understand you may have inspirational photos and we encourage you to share them with us, however,
Alvera does not replicate any other designer's work.

Does Alvera have a showroom?
Alvera & Alvera Bridal does not have a showroom as of now.
However, in the future, we will have one. Stay tune.
Where is Alvera sold?
Alvera & Alvera Bridal products are currently sold only online at

Tracking & Orders?
You can track your packages by clicking the tracking number sent via email and, or logging into your account.
Models & Modeling?
If you are located in the city of Chicago or the southwest suburbs of Chicago Heights, Homewood, etc. We would love to work with you.

What currency are the prices listed?
Our prices are in US dollar.
What category does my garment fall under?
Garments are items of clothing.
At Alvera our couture categories are as followed.
Garments: Dresses & costumes
Gowns: Floor-length eg prom & formal wear.
Bridal: Wedding gowns. Made from luxurious fabrics.
Do you make children's wear?
Unfortunately, at this time we do not. Alvera only produces and offers couture services for misses, women's, and custom men's shirts when applicable.
Consultation fee & deposits?
Consultation fees are for scheduling/securing your appointment date. This fee does not go towards your final cost.
A deposit is required to begin all work. Your deposit will be a percentage of your total garment cost.
All deposits and consultation fees are non-refundable.
Fittings & Measurements
If you decide to go with us for your couture order please understand you will be required to come in for a minimum of three (3) fittings. You will be required to come in so that we can take your official measurements. If you are not open/flexible for fittings and measurements please consider purchasing one of our ready-to-wear
garments for your event.
Alvera will not be able to make your couture order without flexible/ open availability.
How long will my order take?
Processing times vary for each garment. Be sure to check each item individually for processing dates.
Stocked ready-to-wear garments please allow 5-7 business days.
Made-to-order garments please allow 2 weeks.
Couture orders are based on previous orders ahead, event dates, and largely when an individual can come in for fittings.
Bridal wear is based on an even larger scale. We ask that all couture brides start their search/order 10 months to a year in advance. If your wedding is in less than 10 months please email us directly with your wedding date for a quicker response.
